The projector screen can be installed on the wall or the ceiling. Most people opt for installing it on the wall. It is hung on the ceiling often when you do not have enough space.
Installing the screen on the ceiling isn’t bad, but it is a little difficult to do so. However, it is not so difficult that it can not be done.
A proper guide would help you in getting done with the job quite easily. If you are planning to install the screen to the ceiling, here’s a thorough guide.
How to Hang a Projector Screen from the Ceiling?
It’s important to mention here that you have to follow each step carefully. If anything is left unbothered, the screen will be at a high risk of falling. Therefore read the guide carefully. To hang the screen to perfection, here’s what you have to do;
1. Gather all the materials required
To hang the screen to the ceiling, there are a few tools that you need to have. These tools are snap links, a ladder, a screwdriver, eye bolt screws, a wall-hanging L bracket, a marker, ceiling hooks, measuring tape, and a stud finder. Bring all required tools to the site of operation.
2. Find the perfect spot
The next step is to decide where to hang the projector screen. The projector screen should not be hung near the window or the place where lighting can affect the visual quality.
3. Prepare the screen to be hanged
The screen does not require much to be ready to be hung. Almost all screens these days come with brackets already installed. What you have to do is install hooks, snaps, and eyebolts.
Find the brackets on the screen and screw the eyebolts, and snap the hook snaps into the eyebolt loop to move forward. Read guide about Curved Projector Screen vs Flat Projector Screen
4. Prepare the ceiling spot
By preparing the ceiling spot I mean drilling the holes in the ceiling. Drill the holes very carefully otherwise, you would have difficulty hanging the screen. Make sure to check screen sizes like 100 inches or 80.
5. Insert the eyebolt screw
To move ahead with the plan, insert the eyebolt screw in the ceiling and twist it in by applying a little pressure.
Now connect the hook straps to bolt in the ceiling and take these newly attached hook straps to the screen bracket connectors.
Note: You can use toggle bolts here as well. However, I recommend using eye bolt screws as they are easier to insert. The toggle bolts are harder and a bit tiring to install the screen with.
6. Wipe off the dirt from the screen
Now that the screen will be hung shortly, take a clean cloth and wipe off the dirt.
7. Install the screen to the ceiling
Everything is done properly, it’s time to install the screen on the ceiling. As this is the most difficult part of the whole process, you need to have someone raise the screen for you.
Ask someone to raise the screen to an appropriate height and align the eye bolts attached to the holes you drilled earlier.
Now snap the hook onto the eyebolt loop to align it with the screen. Congratulations! The installation process is complete.
8. Do a test run
The installation process might be complete but you still have to make sure whether you have hung the screen well or not. To do a test run, turn on the projector, sit back and try judging the clarity.
If you are not satisfied with the results, align the projector screen a little to get desired results. Once satisfied, you can sit back and enjoy your favorite movies and shows.
